The First Annual Brookline Hub Youth Awards, scheduled for February 28 at 7pm, is fast approaching and the evening is shaping up to be a memorable one. Brookline Hub Publisher, Harvey Bravman commented that the Nomination Committee and participating organizations are coming together to create "a red carpet event" to acknowledge the contribution of local teens.
The main theatre of the Coolidge Corner Theatre has been reserved for the evening. In addition, the entire ceremony will be filmed. Award winners will receive a complimentary DVD of the ceremony in addition to prize packages supplied by Brookline businesses. Copies of the DVD will be made available for sale to the public for $10, the profits from which will go to the Brookline Teen Center.
Ticket sales for the Youth Awards also benefit the Brookline Teen Center. Tickets will sell for $10 each and may be reserved online at the Brookline Hub. They can also be purchased in advance at Brookline Booksmith, the Pear Tree and the Brookline High School through social workers Ayanna Kilpatrick and Paul Epstein. Tickets will also be sold on the night of the event at the Coolidge Corner box office.
The response of local businesses and organizations alike has been extremely generous. The community has come out strong across the board in support of the recognizing the contributions made by local youth and the Brookline Teen Center.
