Brookline Police and Eureka! seek community assitance identifying a man in connection with harrassment and assault of a female employee Thursday evening.

At 8:15pm on July 29, a male entered Eureka! at 1349 Beacon Street in Coolidge Corner.  He inappropriately touched a female staff member who was helping him, then followed and cornered her in the basement after she tried to escape.

Fortunately, the man fled the basement when another Eureka! staff member arrived. 

The Brookline Police department was contacted immediately and they are following up on the situation. 

The suspect is described as a caucasian male, between 28 and 35 years old.  He has a very thin build, is roughly 5'10" tall, wears glasses and has a wide mouth.

Security cameras captured these images of the man while he was in the store. 

Please look these photos over closely and contact the Brookline Police department at 617-730-2222 if you recognize this man or have any information regarding this incident.

Update : 7/30/10 10:50am A man fitting the description of the suspect came into Eureka! this morning and after leaving the store fifteen minutes later continued to loiter in the area.  The Brookline Police Department was notified and has taken the man in for questioning.

Update : 7/30/10 5:30pm The suspect taken in for questioning this morning was formally arrested.  He has been released on $2,000 bail.  A pre-trial hearing on the matter has been set for mid-September.
