A Benefit Concert for North Korean Refugees To Be Held April 27th

"Hope & Harmony: A Benefit Concert for North Korean Refugees," performed by the Boston Korean Chorus, The Korean Church of Boston's Choir I and the Hwaum Boston Chamber Orchestra, will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at the Korean Church of Boston (PCUSA) located at 32 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA. The program includes Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" and Faure's "Requiem."

35th Annual Coolidge Corner Arts Festival To Be Held June 8

On Saturday, June 8, 2013 more than seventy crafts people and fine artists will show and sell their work at the 35th Annual Coolidge Corner Arts Festival from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Devotion School grounds at 345 Harvard Street. This free public showcase for the arts will feature nationally recognized artists as well as accomplished and emerging artists from New England working in an array of media, from jewelry, fiber, glass, ceramics to photography, watercolor and mixed media.

Brookline Village Holds First Annual Health and Wellness Fair!

Wellness in the Village is a local collaborative with the goal of connecting the wealth of health and wellness practitioners in Brookline Village to our community and is is co-sponsored by Brookline on the Move, Bodily Kneads, and The Boston School of Boabom.  The event is also part of Brookline's marking of National Public Health Week.

Brookline Community Foundation Welcomes Five New Trustees

The Brookline Community Foundation (BCF) recently elected Judy Bullitt, Sytkse Humphrey, Jay Lebed, Loh-Sze Leung, and Mike Lindstrom to its Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees is currently chaired by Judith Kidd, and now includes a total of 23 trustees, giving their time and counsel as members of the Board.

Brookline Police Make Armed Robbery Arrest

Two subjects have been arrested for the recent armed robbery and stabbing at Pleasant Street and Browne Street on January 29th.

Brookline Selected To International Network of Age-Friendly Cities

Brookline, Massachusetts, has been accepted as a member of the World Health Organization's (WHO) network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities. The WHO network includes over 100 cities in 18 countries. To date, only eight other cities in the United States have joined the network. Participating U.S. cities include Portland (Oregon), Philadelphia, New York, and Chicago. Brookline is the first municipality in New England invited to join.

Brookline Climate Week 2013 Launches Saturday January 26th

Climate Action Brookline and over 30 production partners and dozens of artists, students and volunteers are pleased to present the Third Annual Brookline Climate Week running Saturday, January 26th through Sunday, February 3rd. A milestone of this year's Climate Week is the collaboration with The Public Library of Brookline to produce Brookline Reads, a community reads together.

Rotary Hosts Third Annual “Have a Heart Chocolate Extravaganza” on February 3

The Rotary Club of Brookline is sponsoring its third annual "Have a Heart: A Chocolate Extravaganza" on Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 12 noon to 3:00 pm at Pine Manor College (Founders Hall). The theme is chocolate in celebration of Valentine's Day and the spirit of giving. Proceeds go to local food pantries.

Brooklinecan Launches Professional Service Providers Group

BrooklineCAN (Brookline Community Aging Network) recently launched the Professional Service Providers' Group. BrooklineCAN is a town-wide initiative designed to advocate for older residents and to help them remain living in their homes as they age and to stay fully engaged in the life of the community.
