Brookline Visual Artist Michael Cucurullo

Brookline Visual Artist Michael Cucurullo

It started with a tweet.

I was on the twitter feed and I saw a cartoon pop up that looked like something out of The New Yorker. It was a black and white drawing with some lime green accents depicting the interior of Peet’s Coffee & Tea, 285 Harvard Street, in Coolidge Corner. The message read “Nice crowd and a.m. vibes for breakfast at #Peets Coffee, downtown.”

Elias Audy; It's All About Friendship

Elias Audy came to this country at the age of 20 on October 13, 1969 at 2:30pm; he actually remembers when his plane landed. Born in North Lebanon, a country known for it’s great education system, Elias comes from a tolerant community known for its diversity of religion and political ideologies. Odd isn’t it how so many Americans assume all immigrants come from a place less sophisticated than ours?

Old-Fashioned Fix-It Shop Focuses on Refurbishing, Not Replacing

Walking into Village Green Renewal on 6 Davis Avenue in Brookline Village is like stepping into your grandfather's (or perhaps even your great-grandfather's) workshop, with all the old tools mounted on the walls and the many boxes and drawers overflowing with antique door knobs, brass hardware, and skeleton keys that might unlock the door of an old Victorian house, like the kind you see all over Brookline.

A Conversation with Brookline Town Administrator, Mel Kleckner

It’s been 2 years to the week since the Board of Selectmen announced the hiring of former Winchester Town Manager, Mel Kleckner to the position of Town Administrator. On August 1, Mel shared his thoughts with us about the present and future of Brookline government and the challenges that lie ahead.

The Woman Behind The Design : Kristen Mallia

It has become a welcome sight on St Mary's St. and in Washington Square since the introduction of Brookline's pilot Food Truck program, but now Paris' Creperie's contribution to mobile cuisine is garnering national attention too.  A serious contender in Mobile Cuisine's Best Food Truck Graphic Design Contest, holding first place with 16% of tallied votes as of this article's writing and only entry from New England, le Tour Eiffel is the creation of local graphic artist, Kristen Mallia.

Justin Berke : Brookline's Big Man

My Dad used to say go all the way or go home. Justin Berke is one of those rare people who goes all the way when it comes to his community and beliefs. He became involved in the community just a few years ago and his impact was immediate. Justin’s engaging personality, warm demeanor, and contagious laugh makes him one of the best “friend” machines in the community. He uses his power to bring everyone into his world to benefit the community he serves with passion.
